The Two-Tone Sailfin Tang, scientifically known as Zebrasoma scopas, is a popular marine fish that belongs to the Acanthuridae family. It's also commonly referred to as the Scopas Tang, or the Brush-tail Tang. This species is known for its distinctive coloration, shape, and behavior.

Here are some key characteristics and information about the Two-Tone Sailfin Tang:

Appearance: The Two-Tone Sailfin Tang has a unique appearance. It has a predominantly dark brown to black body with a bright white or yellow dorsal fin and a striking white or yellow caudal fin (tail). The contrast between the dark body and the bright fins gives it its "two-tone" appearance. Its body is elongated and laterally compressed, which is a typical shape for tangs.

Size: These tangs can grow relatively large, reaching lengths of up to 10 to 12 inches (25 to 30 centimeters) in captivity.

Habitat: They are native to the Indo-Pacific, where they can be found in coral-rich environments, including lagoons and reef slopes. They prefer areas with plenty of hiding places among coral formations.

Behavior: Two-Tone Sailfin Tangs are generally peaceful but can become territorial, especially in smaller aquariums or when kept with similar species. They are active swimmers and can be seen grazing on algae and other small organisms in the aquarium.

Diet: In the wild, their diet mainly consists of algae and detritus. In captivity, they should be provided with a diet rich in marine algae and vegetable matter. They are herbivores and require a diet that includes marine flake or pellet foods with plenty of seaweed and algae-based supplements.

It's important to note that these tangs can become aggressive, especially if kept in smaller aquariums or with limited hiding spots. They also need a stable environment with proper water quality. If you plan to keep a Two-Tone Sailfin Tang in your aquarium, be sure to research and understand their specific requirements to ensure their well-being.
